Academic Profile

Dr. Thomas is a full-time Geriatrician/clinician educator at the Veterans Administration San Diego Healthcare System and serves as section chief of the VA Section of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Dr. Thomas has a Masters in Public Heath (received 2001 at San Diego State University), and who is Board Certified (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Thomas provides direct care to patients in the VA Home Based Primary Care Program and provides attending level care for palliative/end of life patients admitted to the Community Living Center and also provides primary and consultative care for Geriatric patients at the VA Mission Valley Clinic.  Dr. Thomas serves on the School of Medicine’s Recruitment and Admissions Committee.  Dr. Thomas is a talented clinician-educator who is highly respected by his colleagues and trainees.
